Supportive and Palliative Care in Head and Neck Cancer

Approximately 1/3 of patients referred for non surgical head and neck cancer treatments within Merseyside will undergo a palliative treatment strategy. In addition, local relapse rates for those initially treated with radical intent (with HPV negative disease) approach 50%.

This meeting will provide an update on treatment advances for patients with a palliative diagnosis. It will encourage discussion around the ethical considerations and complex decisions in nutrition and airway management.
