'ESMO initiatives - paving the way for female oncology leaders' by Dr Helena Linardou
Dr Helena Linardou is the chair of the ESMO Women for Oncology Committee and a member of the ESMO Council. She is also a founding member of W4O-Hellas which is actively involved in raising public awareness of cancer, supporting women oncology patients in Greece, advocating for gender issues, and promoting gender balance, diversity, and equity in oncology.
'Leveraging Your Superpower as a Woman in Oncology' by Dr Olubukola Ayodele
Dr Olubukola Ayodele is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, UK who specializes in the management of breast malignancies. She is an honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester and the Head of the Breast Cancer Unit at the Leicester Cancer Research Centre, while also leading the breast cancer clinical trials portfolio. She obtained a dual fellowship in drug development and sarcoma from the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PMCC) in Toronto, Canada, following specialist oncology training in the Republic of Ireland. She is the inaugural recipient of the ISMO-PMCC collaboration fellowship award in 2018. She is a recipient of the 2021 ASCO Conquer Cancer Endowed Merit award. She is the author of multiple publications including a book chapter and serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals. Dr Ayodele has a portfolio of academic and commercial clinical trials which she runs alongside collaborative translational research projects focusing on molecular drivers and biomarkers in breast cancer. She has received multiple grants for her research work.
'Psychological Safety in the Workplace' by Dr Penny Kechagioglou
Dr Penny Kechagioglou is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist, Chief Medical Officer for Icon UK and the Chief Clinical Information Officer/deputy CMO at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. She holds leadership roles in various academic, digital and regulatory bodies, including being an advisor for the WHO Academy for Lifelong Learning in Health. Penny has completed a doctorate in leadership and innovation at Warwick Business School and is the author of the book Healthcare Innovation Success: Learning from Organisational Experience. She also holds a Masters in Public Health and Health Management, an MBA and a PGDip in Digital Health from the prestigious NHS Digital Academy. Penny is an undergraduate and postgraduate tutor, lecturer, mentor and professional health coach, she is the co-author of the book 'Integrative Oncology in Breast Cancer Care' and co-founder of the ONCIO CIC, the first ever Integrative Oncology app to support patients throughout their cancer journeys.
The event will be chaired by Dr Helen Winter (Consultant medical oncologist, co-chair of the National Immunotherapy Education Forum and Clinical Director of the SWAG Cancer Alliance) and Dr Seline Ismail-Sutton (Internal medical trainee with an interest in oncology and co-founder of Women For Oncology UK).
