- Head & Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Unknown Primary
Multidisciplinary Consensus Day
01 September 2021
ENT UK and The Head and Neck Society are hosting this full-day academic conference on Monday 15 November 2021, which attendees can join virtually or face-to-face at Sage Gateshead.
The meeting seeks to provide an overview of the current evidence in managing head and neck cancer presenting as an unknown primary, and achieve an expert multi-disciplinary consensus on aspects of diagnosis and management.
Each session will commence with a systematic review of the existing evidence base, and provide insight into the national picture on patient management, both retrospectively and within the framework of a prospective study. Appropriate stakeholders relevant to each session will contribute to the discussion. Breakout rooms led by experienced chairs will seek to define consensus for management recommendations using Delphi principles. There will be three sessions in all, which will follow the pathway of diagnosis and management of the unknown primary.
It is anticipated that this will lead to a number of publications on the topic, and contribute to the forthcoming 6th edition of the UK head and neck cancer multi-disciplinary guidelines. The publications will acknowledge all presenters and participants.
