BAHNO delighted to be the Chosen Charity!

East Bierley Golf Club's fundraising efforts

BAHNO was delighted to be chosen as the nominated charity by East Bierley Golf Club’s Captain, Rob Jennings.

A series of events was held by the West Yorkshire club, including a very successful auction on the Captain’s Day last summer.

The Captain was moved to choose BAHNO as a charity to be supported in recognition of the care and support received by a club member, Jim Findlay, who was struck down with head and neck cancer. Mr Findlay was treated by a dedicated team of head and neck cancer specialists at Leeds Cancer Centre, under the leadership of BAHNO Council member, Mr Mehmet Sen.

BAHNO is a registered charity and is the only multi-disciplinary professional group which can speak for the interests of head and neck cancer clinicians and patients in the UK. As well as providing regular meetings for professional to share their research and knowledge, BAHNO also offers Research Grants to those clinicians involved in the management of head and neck cancer.

BAHNO is grateful for the fundraising efforts of East Bierley Golf Club – the £745.30 they have donated is a welcome addition to our Research Fund, particularly since the pandemic.
